Paolo - Specialist Physiotherapist

From the pitch of the Premier League to the rehab room, my journey into physiotherapy has been driven by a lifelong passion for movement, performance, and helping others reach their potential.

I began my career as a professional footballer with Southampton FC, where I experienced firsthand the power of expert rehabilitation and structured recovery. That experience not only shaped my mindset as an athlete - it laid the foundation for the therapist I am today.

After transitioning from sport, I spent over a decade building my own MSK injury clinic, working with elite and professional athletes and everyday clients alike. From manual therapy and movement correction to strength coaching and return-to-sport protocols, I found purpose in guiding people through the recovery process—from injury to full performance.

My academic path led me to complete a BSc in Exercise Science & Clinical Rehabilitation, followed by an MSc in Physiotherapy. Since then, I’ve taken on roles across the NHS and private practice, including my current position with the NHS Hampshire & Isle of Wight Trust, where I lead community respiratory rehabilitation and work within outpatient and MSK inpatient care.

Every client I meet is different, and I pride myself on blending clinical insight with a personal approach. Whether I’m teaching osteoarthritis classes, leading end-stage rehab, or fine-tuning an athlete’s gait and movement mechanics, I bring energy, empathy, and precision to every session.

Alongside my clinical work, I’ve trained extensively in metabolic testing (PNOE), dry needling, shockwave therapy, and sports performance diagnostics. I’m fluent in both English and Italian, and comfortable coaching groups or working one-on-one in high-pressure environments.

Away from work, I’m still very much on the move - playing padel, training at the gym, or out on the golf course (current handicap: 12). Travel, fitness, and a lifelong love of sport keep me sharp, both professionally and personally.

Physiotherapy isn’t just my profession - it’s where my past as an athlete and my present as a clinician come together to help others move better, feel stronger, and live with confidence.
